AREA GASTRO

Area Gastro is our latest release. The sources have been entirely rewritten; now we use a stable and powerful DataBase (MySQL) that guarantees the maximum safety of sensitive data and offers an extremely fast research and management of a great quantity of data.

Area Gastro is the answer to the modern needs of a Gastroenterologic and Endoscopic operative unit because it manages the clinical data of a complete Endoscopic file (Gastro-Colon-ERCP-USEndoscopy) including, optionally, Internal Ultrasonography.

The clinical file is gradually drawn up with the personal, anamnestic and lab data, the historical instrumental data of the examinations the patient underwent to solve a diagnostic problem and finally any endoscopic, USendoscopic or ultrasound-related data.

In comparison with the previous version (wEndoPlus 2), Area Gastro includes a single patients' database for all the archives, where the files of the examinations the patient underwent (examination + blood analysis + endoscopy + ultrasonography) are stored.

The administrative data research and the Epidemiologic and Statistics analysis have been improved: by a single mouse click, you can obtain more details and especially immediate results (5 seconds for a research carried out on 12000 patients).

As for the access to the data in the archives (that are now managed on the server) it's now possible to read/modify them differently according to the type of user and to track the users' access to sensitive data.

With Area Gastro you can track not only the instruments used and their use in a specified interval of time, but also (if data have been registered in the file) the disinfection/sterilization processes they have been exposed to and their use in the first examination.

There are two kinds of reports printed with Area Gastro: a “simple” one, on a single page containing 4 photos and a “complete” one with more information and with 4 bigger photos, that are printed on a second page. In both reports, it's possible to add more photos (6 or 12 per page).

Good prints can be obtained with a normal ink-jet printer (or better, with a colour laser printer) on common paper or, if better prints are required, on photo quality paper or matt coated paper (cheaper than photo paper).

With this new version it's possible manage the data contained in the patients' files in local or wide area network or on the web.
